Know your Muslim Neighbor (KYMN) is a family-friendly event where local communities come together in a celebration of diversity and unity. These public events provide an opportunity to meet new people, try new experiences, taste new food, and enjoy conversation with local Muslims. Hosted in public spaces and libraries in the Champaign-Urbana area, KYMN offers hands-on Islamic art activities for children, henna hand painting, a poster exhibit on the history of Muslims in early America, and short presentations. KYMN is brought to you by your friends at the Muslim American Society (MAS) along with our partners at the Champaign Public Library. HUGE shout out to MAS - Detroit, as the originators of this event. Past Event: Dear Rodney, Where Are You? UIUC Letter-Writing

UIUC Students, Professors, Staff, and Campus Community Members: TAKE ACTION NOW! We want to build on the success of our previous letter-writing event by including the campus community! The CU Immigration Forum invites all its campus members, allies and supporters, to come write a letter to Congressman Rodney Davis, voicing our disapproval of Trump's policies and our desire for immigrant-friendly policies. Stop by the Illini Union Room A, between 10 am—1 pm pm on Monday, March 6, 2017, and help us in this endeavor. This action will only take 5 minutes of your day. CU Immigration Forum will provide all the necessary supplies (paper, envelopes, & stamps) as well as talking points and sample scripts in case you need help writing your letter.
