Resource Center Moving
January 18, 2018
We would like to thank everyone who helped make the Community Resource Center a reality! This project started out as a way to give refugees and newcomers some agency and choice in their lives. We are so grateful to the University YMCA for granting us the space to make this happen and for helping us form some great new connections in the community.
As we continue to adapt to the changes of the past year, we have moved from the University Y to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, just across the street. While we will continue to offer all the same services, clothing, kitchen items, and furniture, we will no longer hold regular hours open to the public — visits must now be setup by referral or appointment. Since this is a smaller space and we currently have a surplus of items we will not be accepting any more unsolicited clothing or furniture donations for the time being. However, we will hold donation drives for particular items like school supplies or winter coats strategically throughout the year.
As we enter our third year of service we continue to focus on our goal of providing a safe, stable, and welcoming community to displaced families and are excited about a newly created scholarship program. Thank you all for your continued support!
